Where do great mystery stories come from? From spontaneous combustion, I would argue -- the spark of a writer's imagination, fueled by life experience and fanned by the craft of telling, ignites a bonfire of the imagination between author and audience. We value the result for the transporting pleasure the stories bring us.
In tribute to the best creators of mystery stories, Poor Stuart's Almanac presents this pantheon of authors, screenwriters and film directors and their works of mystery, detective, spy, crime, and thriller fiction.
This is, and will remain, a work in progress -- seeking out the best authors, their most enduring stories, and the influences that connect one author to another. My goal is to help readers and viewers sift through the mass of books and movies to enjoy the diversion of the best-told tales.
Poor Stuart's Almanac is both an almanac and a catalog. It provides recommendations, gives best sellers their due, and provides links to Amazon.com for purchases.Poor Stuart's Digital Almanac
